Podium Lounge 2017 Announces Star-Studded Line Up
In its ninth consecutive year in Singapore, the sell-out, celebrity packed event Podium Lounge returns to the Grand Ballroom of The Ritz Carlton, Millenia Singapore on Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September from 10pm until late.
Featuring a dizzying overhead catwalk, and VIP balconies offering a magical party experience with the Racing Community for up to 3,000 guests per night, The Podium Lounge Singapore follows successful star-studded events around the globe in Abu Dhabi, Monaco and Melbourne highlighting a glamorous ultra-lounge experience.
This year’s dazzling line-up features British model and rising star Pixie Geldof (third daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates), who will be in Singapore for the first time ever to DJ on the Opening Night, Friday 15th September. Pixie, who was invited to DJ at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, is one of the hottest DJs on the global fashion circuit with annual appearances at both the London and New York Fashion Week.
Guests will be entertained by Formula 1 Legend and former Ferrari F1 Driver Giancarlo Fisichella who will be the guest DJ and hosting the drivers, celebrity guests and performers on the red carpet alongside E! News Asia host Raymond Gutierrez.
On Saturday 16th September, American rapper and Grammy Award winner Coolio will perform together with his band for the first time in Singapore. As a multi-platinum selling artist and one of the most popular and successful rappers worldwide, Coolio, aka Artis Leon Ivey Jr, has sold over 30 million records globally. His 1995 hit ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ catapulted Coolio onto the global stage, reaching #1 in the charts the USA, UK and around the world. The track received several awards including Best Rap Solo Performance at the Grammy Awards, and Best Rap Video and Best Video From A Film at the MTV Music Awards. Since his inauguration into the music industry, Coolio has produced and released five successful albums titled It Takes A thief, Gangsta’s Paradise, My Soul, El Cool Magnifico and The Return Of The Gangsta.
On Sunday 17th September, the amazing Grammy Award winning artist Macy Gray will perform her multi-platinum hits and also DJ following the trackside action. The American R&B, jazz and soul singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and actress, known for her distinctive raspy voice has released six studio albums, and received five Grammy Award nominations, winning one. Macy Gray is best known for her international hit single “I Try”, taken from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is and is looking forward to turbo-boosting the high-octane party celebrations on Race Day.

Art lovers will catch Sundaram Tagore Gallery who will present Primary Source, an exhibition of work by famous contemporary artists from both Asia and the West who embrace traditional visual tropes and techniques rooted in their cultures as a primary source to create their own unique visual language. This presentation focuses on work by internationally acclaimed artists such as Hiroshi Senju, Miya Ando, Kim Joon and more.
World-famous speed painter Armin Flossdorf of F1 Arts, will be performing live throughout the weekend as well. Armin has exhibited at the very highest levels of motorsport events around the world, and counts F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone and FIA President Jean Todt among his collectors. Armin will be joined by Paul Oz, an explosive portrait artist from the UK focused on the maximum 3D impact and energy in thick oil paint. Paul has created work personally for Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Sir Jackie Stewart, Bruno Mars to mark his 24k Magic Tour, Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday, and for Sir Brad Wiggins to celebrate his 2012 Olympic victory. Paul has also been commissioned by Team Sky, Chelsea FC, Red Bull, Pirelli, Instituto Ayrton Senna and James Hunt’s family to mark 20 years, as well as live painting engagements with Scuderia Ferrari in Monaco.
Charity is always a major focus of The Podium Lounge weekend, and this year will see a series of live auctions of authenticated and exceptionally rare F1 memorabilia with all proceeds going to charity. Some outstanding items include a signed full colour lithograph by Jack Brabham Australia’s only two-time F1 World Champion, a signed racing glove by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton, a racing helmet signed by all the Drivers of the current 2017 Formula 1 Season, a Michael Schumacher signed F1 racing glove, a double photo piece signed by Motor Racing Royalty Nigel Mansell and much more.
