Sole Superior, Singapore’s premier sneaker and streetwear convention returns on 27 – 28 October 2018 with its biggest and most spectacular edition to date, leveling up in size, activities and brand participants in a new event imprint evolved as ‘Street Superior Festival’ (SSF).

Jointly organized by concept activators, One Eleven and sneaker-culture stalwarts, Sole Superior, Street Superior Festival 2018 will feature up to 16 showcase brands; 70 individual streetwear vendors; 15 food vendors; a music and art line-up of 21 DJs, parkour and graffiti artists; arcade basketball by Under Armour and an in-door skate ramp by Vans x Pirate Life. Located at the historic Pasir Panjang ‘A’ Power Station, Street Superior will occupy 70,000 sq. ft. of raw industrial space, a gathering of subcultures across Sneakers, Streetwear, Music, Digital and Street Art in one platform. To shorten the list, here are our top three you-must-know before heading over to the actual event:

Limited Edt / LE Convenience

B

Straight up thoughts: Hiroshi Fujiwara concept stores. Yes, the original ideas of THE CONVENI and THE PARK-ING GINZA are now being adopted by homegrown shoe retailer, Limited Edt, in a fitting theme of your neighbourhood “MAMA’ shop. Replacing the common groceries are selections of profilic new sneaker launches like Adidas Dragon Ball Z Prophere and Deerupt Runner, Adidas NMD Hu x Pharrell Williams X Billionaire Boys Club, Adidas Yeezy 700, Adidas x Bathing Ape 3ST. In addition to the unique store concept, serious sneaker heads should also keep a look out for the OG Nike SB Sneaker showcase like the Tiffany, Gucci, Ray Gun and Concepts Lobster.

Sneaker Donation Drive for Soles4Souls

C

If you’re a little strapped for cash, perhaps digging out that unwanted (but wearable) covered pair of shoes might just help you leave with a Jason Markk x Bystander x Native merchandise. Here’s why: attendees that donate unwanted shoes for the cause will receive a token of appreciation from Jason Markk and Native. The donation will in turn be distributed to help individuals start and sustain small businesses to lift themselves and their families out of poverty. Really, it’s a win-win situation – you’ll do a kind deed; the shoes will finally find its feet; you’ll earn street credits from your fellow companions and the merchandise? Let’s just say it’s a bonus (ha!)

The Trading Pit

DE

The beating pulse of Street Superior lies at the Trading Pit. No seriously – imagine the atmosphere of aunties and freebies but replaced with overtly excited teenagers/young adults and their obsession for one-off limited edition sneakers. Join the fun by bringing a maximum of two pairs of sneakers in which you can sell, trade or barter in public trading space. No promises but we’ve heard of punters as young as 12 years old trading collectible editions for as much as $800 in the Trading Pit. There will also be an array of vendors made up by private collectors, sneaker resellers and homegrown streetwear brands available for accessories, vintage apparels and pre-loved designer items.
