Culture Cartel: Asia’s First All-Encompassing Street Festival is Back for it’s Second Edition!
Taking place from 6 to 8 December 2019 at the F1 Pit Bulding, Culture Cartel is back for its second edition this time bigger and better, spanning more than 15,000 sq.ft. across three floors. Organised by Culture Cartel Pte Ltd and co-organised by Axis Group Asia and Division Communications, Culture Cartel will be bringing the best of urban labels, purveyors and talents from around the world to home ground.
Get a slice of epic hip hop as Culture Cartel expands its curated agenda of art, fashion, tattoos and toys to include music with the first edition of #CCSoundstage with performance from urban music legends like rap icon Fatman Scoop and Def Jam Records SEA, and local rappers like Yung Raja and Fariz Jabba.
Following its ground-breaking collaboration with American contemporary street artist Joshua Vides last year, Mercedes-Benz is back on board for Culture Cartel 2019 and is set to launch two exclusive projects with toy sculptor COARSE (LA) and Spanish illustrator Ricardo Cavolo (ES). Both artists are collaborating with Mercedes-Benz for the first time.
DBS Live Fresh Card and LA-based psychedelic-pop illustrator, Steven Harrington, will be collaborating to create a fun-filled Live Fresh Playground at the event. Other highlights to the ticketed event include: The showcase of a private collection of Star Wars vintage toys A 32-metre wall mural modelled after a subway train to present the train tagging experience to members of the public featuring over 100 pieces from multiple generations of the venerable collectibles, including extremely rare pieces that are worth more than USD$1,000,000.
Limited Edt and Stadium Goods collaborates for Chronicles of Flight – the largest collection of Nike Air Jordans in all of Southeast Asia, with over 200 rare models and colourways on display and available for purchase. This majestic display of kicks will include highly-coveted pairs in the scene, such as the Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Satin Black Toe’ and Air Jordan 1 Retro High ‘Chicago’ 2013.
G-Shock has teamed up with the OG street artists Crash (NY) and Stash (NY) on a watch which will be launched exclusively at Culture Cartel, featuring each artist’s iconic graffiti styles in a monochromatic palette and tagged in scarlet red.
Other collaboration merchandise include the limited edition Be@rbrick designed by Crash, Crash x Stash New Era caps, limited edition CC mobile pop-grips designed by @beerpitch, @grafflex, @fritilldea and @muklay, and many more. Culture Cartel will also release a series of brand merchandise, such as limited edition collaboration tees with RAW EMOTIONS, SBTG x Overeasy, Subcrew and Titan, all available in limited quantities at the CC2019 merch store.
Take a peek into the minds of your favourite artists at Culture Cartel’s very first line-up of masterclasses, as it teams up local thought leaders like FLABSLAB with international toy designers such as Luke Chueh and Quiccs to conduct crash courses on toy painting. Accomplished sneaker designer Steven Smith, the current design director of Yeezy, and all the way to Reebok InstaPump Fury, will take you through the highs and lows of his career, his creative and design process, and inspire you to take a walk in his shoes. Look out for the upcycling workshop put together by Odiva and Magafaka, that will allow you to repurpose your pre-loved denim jackets.
