Summertime happens all around the year in Singapore, but the brunt of it happens in June which often equates to rising temperatures, making the weather a little more unbearable. Fret not, beat the heat and stay indoors at Ginett Restaurant & Wine Bar, where one will find a new reason to visit every day of the week.
On the 8th and 9th of June, experience their exclusive wine masterclass Vineyard to Table, conducted by Jacques Varet, Director of Operations at R&B Lab, in collaboration with French wine expert, Yves Soudy. Varet is a multi-awarded wine expert who has developed an in-depth understanding and unmatched appreciation for viticulture (the science, production, and study of grapes). He earned his Master of Sommelier certification from Tain L’Hermitage in the heart of the Rhone Valley.
Varet will take participants through understanding the matching of wines with specific glassware, as well as the basics of food and wine pairing, while Soudy will share more on the unique winemaking process and attributes of each wine. The two-hour masterclass includes a hearty 5-course meal paired with wines from France’s best wine regions and will also teach participants to recognise and appreciate the subtle nuances in the different wines.
The meal starts off with the bright Burrata & Heirloom Tomato, Compressed Watermelon accompanied with a glass of crisp, sparkling wine. For mains, guests can expect to indulge in La Quenelle de Brochet Gratinee, a delicate pike fish dumpling coated in Chardonnay Sauce and the tender La Joue de Bouef, Wagyu Beef braised for 12 hours that is guaranteed to melt in your mouth.The meal is then followed by a Cheese Platter featuring a selection of fine French cheese to go along with the subtle notes of the wine. Conclude the meal on a tangy and sweet note with the zesty Lemon Meringue, accompanied with a glass of rosé wine.
In addition to an already stellar line-up of promotions, Ginett will introduce Super Mondays, where guests can enjoy a 1-for-1 main course offer (limited to three orders per table, and no splitting of cheques) and Wine Down Wednesdays, where all Grand Cru labels valued above $100 per bottle are offered at 1-for-1, while stocks last.
