Highland Park Launches Its New 15 Year Old Viking Heart Whisky in Singapore

Known for its rich history and their line of mildly peaty whiskies, the Orkney based distillery Highland Park has incorporated a new, permanent whisky in their mainstream lineup of whiskies. Possibly the most eye-catching feature about the new 15 Year Old Viking Heart whisky is the heavily embossed ceramic bottle that contains the golden elixir. Specially created in partnership with renowned ceramic specialist Wade Ceramics; the inspiration of which came from traditions passed down from their ancestors- ancient earthenware vessels which the whisky would have been stored a century or two ago at the distillery to let the whisky age over the years.

Curated over countless rounds of testing from specially hand-selected casks by Highland Park’s Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion, the 15 year old whisky features a high percentage of first-fill European oak sherry seasoned casks that reflects its age and maturity with a warm, dry spicy note whilst first-fill American oak sherry seasoned casks helps mellow out the intensity with notes of vanilla and crème brûlée. A small proportion of refill casks allow the DNA of Highland Park whisky to shine through, namely its gentle heather peat and lightly fruity character.

Highland park 15 Year Old Viking Heart Tasting Notes:
Colour: Natural cask driven colour, light brownish-golden hue, clear and bright
Nosing: Cinnamon, mild peaty smokiness, dried citrus
Palete: Scorched pineapple, vanilla sponge cake, a very mild hint of lemon-zest and honey
Finish: Rich, mildly oily texture finish with a hint of spice from the cinnamon at the end along with the natural peat of the whisky
