2023 has just begun, and the Lunar New Year is soon upon us: a time of feasting, reunions and joy! If the fatigue of planning year-end gatherings has caught up to you, not to worry: we’ve summed up some of the best places to have your Chinese New Year reunion meal. Celebrate the Lunar New Year at Si Chuan Dou Hua at PARKROYAL on Beach Road, with exclusive dishes made for the whole family. Si Chuan Dou Hua brings to the table a variety of Lunar New Year Set Menus available from 9 January to 5 February 2023. With prices starting from S$98++ per pax, it caters to a variety of family and group sizes, starting from two persons.

The well-loved restaurant debuts this year abalone and smoked salmon to welcome the Year of the Rabbit.

Kickstart your feast with the Abundance Treasures Yu Sheng, a luxurious combination of its signature La Zi Ji (Chong Qing-style diced chicken with dried chillies).

Exclusive to the Si Chuan Dou Hua at PARKROYAL on Beach Road is the King Garoupa with Fresh Sichuan Peppercorn, where a whole Indonesian king grouper is steamed with spring onions to draw out its natural sweetness and then topped with Sichuan peppercorn for a punchy heat and distinctive numbing spice, as well as a flavourful spring onion sauce. There is also the Braised Lobster with Fish Paste Noodles in Superior Stock, where fish paste is moulded into springy noodles and served alongside fresh lobster for a dish sure to satiate your seafood cravings.

Sip on a bowl of Double-boiled Chicken Broth with Sea Cucumber, Matsutake Mushroom and Dried Scallop. Boiled for over four hours, the nourishing broth offers an earthy sweetness from the mushrooms and delightful sweetness from the seafood. Or indulge in the Braised Bird’s Nest with Fresh Fish Maw in Crab Meat Sauce: rich, umami, and decadent.

The Braised 8-head Abalone with Hangzhou-style Pork Belly and Seasonal Vegetables offers fork-tender pork belly alongside QQ abalones and a medley of vegetables, all doused in a deliciously savoury sauce.

End things on a sweet note with Pan-fried Auspicious Nian Gao, as well as the adorable Bunny-shaped Milk Pudding where the sweet rice cakes and milk pudding are a symbol to wish all prosperity and sweetness in the coming year of the rabbit.

Ring in the Year of the Rabbit with Yun Nans’ six Chinese New Year set menus featuring lip-smacking and specially curated dishes.

Crowd favourite Chinese New Year dishes will be making a comeback, including the Prosperity Treasure Hot Pot which features a toothsome broth base stewed for six hours with a medley of ingredients like Jinhua ham, old hen, chicken feet, pork bones, pork trotters, dried scallops and carrots. The hotpot is then filled with an array of exquisite and auspicious ingredients including roast pork belly, sea cucumber, abalone, scallops, prawns,fish maw, cordyceps flowers, yam and Chinese cabbage.

There is also the “Bi Feng Tang” Style Pork Ribs with Truffles. Prepared Cantonese-style, the pork ribs are marinated with specially preserved chillies, solo clove garlic, and slices of black truffle from Yunnan.

Don’t miss out on the all-new Lunar New Year dishes either! Dig into the Crispy Roast Chicken: marinated with five-spice powder and roasted until the skin turns thin and crispy. Served with both a house-made chilli sauce crafted with seven types of Yunnan chillies, as well as a salt and pepper dry dip for those who have a lower spice tolerance. There is also the Sauteed Tiger Prawns with Superior Soy Sauce, offering giant juicy prawns flash-fried in a fragrant soy sauce mix made with a blend of premium soy and nine types of specially curated ingredients, including spices and aromatics.
