Domaine Henri Bourgeois, a cornerstone of Sancerre winemaking for over three centuries, unveiled its reimagined identity in an exclusive soft launch event in Singapore with wine enthusiasts and industry professionals.

At an intimate lunch and wine tasting, Jean-Marie Bourgeois, the ninth-generation family producer and patriarch of the Bourgeois family personally offered a rare interview with attendees. He shared exclusive insights into the estate’s rich history and its exciting future. Jean-Marie has personally been advancing the estate’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

This rebranding initiative coincides with a significant milestone for Domaine Henri Bourgeois – the release of its first 100% organic vintage. This achievement marks the culmination of years of meticulous effort to convert all 72 hectares of the estate’s vineyards to organic practices. To commemorate this certification, the winemaker has redesigned the labels of its wine range, aiming to reaffirm the values that have been the cornerstone of its success: respect for tradition, a quest for precision, and a genuine passion for its terroirs.

The new visual identity encapsulates the estate’s organic certification while preserving its rich heritage. It represents a delicate balance between honoring the past and embracing the future, reflecting the winemaker’s commitment to both tradition and innovation in winemaking.

Two Sauvignon Blanc vintages were the star of the rebranding and tasting. The first is the 2020 Pouilly-Fumé that boasts a radiant gold color. The nose is greeted by acacia notes, marine freshness and subtle woody undertones. This aromatic complexity sets the stage for a well-structured palate that balances intensity with refinement. On the palate, the wine reveals a harmonious blend of tangerine notes coupled with pastry undertones, creating a round and intense mouthfeel. The finish is particularly noteworthy, characterized by an iodine quality that lingers, underscoring the wine’s complexity and its deep connection to its terroir.

The second is the Sancerre Blanc 2022, a delightful white wine which offers a harmonious and refined taste profile. Upon the first sip, gentle flavors of peach and apricot take center stage, providing a soft and inviting introduction to the palate. These stone fruit notes are beautifully balanced, neither overpowering nor understated, allowing the wine’s subtle complexities to shine through. In the background, a lingering citrus essence adds depth and brightness, enhancing the overall flavor profile with a refreshing touch.

We can’t wait for you to sample a glass of Sancerre wine from the Bourgeois family soon.
