Looking to have a getaway from the bustle of the city this Lunar New Year? Look no further than Sofitel Sentosa Resort & Spa – nestled within the lush greenery of Sentosa Island, and offering Sentosa’s only free-flow charcoal steamboat buffet, perfect for reunion meals with loved ones.

Head to Kwee Zeen to savour the Prosperity Steamboat – a free-flow steamboat buffet complete with charcoal steamboat pots and fresh seafood, as well as an yusheng station to toss to an auspicious year ahead.

Pick from a variety of soup bases, including a tangy tomyum and nourishing chicken broth, then head to the various stations to choose your dishes and ingredients – just let the friendly chefs and staff members know your pick, and they’ll aid you in filling your plate, all within safe-distancing measures.

We especially enjoyed the fresh tiger prawns and scallops from the seafood station, along with the thick slices of fish fillet and King Oyster mushrooms that tasted wonderful after simmering in the tomyum broth. The use of a charcoal-heated pot added a touch of smokiness to the various ingredients as well – we recommend leaving a bit of stomach space to cook down some noodles at the end to get the most of the smoky flavour!

Of course, what’s a buffet without desserts? Go for the delightfully floral Osmanthus Jelly Verrine and selection of fresh fruits if you’re looking for something light to end off your meal with. Or, go all out and have a slice or two of the Chocolate Royaltine: rich chocolate mousse layered with an addictively crunchy hazelnut feuilletine. We only regret that we were too full for another slice.
