Led by Japanese Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa, the chef behind the award-winning restaurant, this marks his second outlet outside Tokyo following the opening of its first overseas outpost Narisawa in Shanghai in 2023.

Here, the menu showcases elevated dishes using sustainable Japanse produce, European cooking techniques, charcoal-grilled meats, and meticulously sourced seafood. The experience is further complemented by a 700-bottle wine list of terroir-driven Old World labels, an array of Dom Perignon Champagnes, and exclusive hand-brewed sake from Masuizumi by Masuda Sake Company. Notably, Masuda sake is the only sake served by NARISAWA globally, emphasizing the chef’s dedication to quality and exclusivity.

This unique gastronomic experience priced at S$148++ member / S$248++ public for four course lunch and S$208++ member / S$248++ public for a six course dinner showcases dishes, each ingredients carefully selected by Chef Narisawa himself which ensures you get the same quality and taste similar to his other outlets overseas.

Udon

Some of the notable dishes we enjoyed is the ikura, scallop and uni atop cold chewy udon and simmered in the fresh tomato based sauce, a refreshing take of the traditional Japanese favourite noodle. The Charcoal grilled Eel atop Shari (vinegared sushi rice) uses sherry rice which is also used to produce some of Japan’s finest sake’s, while the anago eel is from the Aichi prefecture, the hometown of chef Narisawa. Try the fresh wasabi which is very different from the usual wasabi you’ve tried.

We looked forward to The Menchi Katsu, a breaded patty of minced pork and wagyu from Kagoshima prefecture, deep-fried and served with potato salad and locally-sourced vegetables. This dish which is widely popular being served in almost all Japanese restaurants didn’t disappoint. This potato salad from Hokkaido was another surprise, sweet and not too creamy, it was something we would want to eat again and again.

Dessert

The White Peach Baba and the matcha monaka are both equally fitting to wrap up your meal. The baba is a soft bread soaked in rum with fresh sliced white peach is the chef’s father’s recipe, while the latter features fresh made green tea cream enclosed within the mini crispy wafers.

Overall, the dining experience here impressive, every dishes here was well thought of, each ingredients were carefully selected and the cooking is impeccable. This is worth a visit.

Bookings for the 5-week pre-opening is now open for bookings to the public here, before a permanent fixture at Mandala Club exclusively for members opens in October 2024.
