With the numerous restaurants and bars opening up in Singapore, you might find it hard to answer when you are asked “Where are we having Lunch or Dinner today?” Sometimes i find it hard to answer as well.
This list isn’t meant to be a list of the city’s best restaurants but a list of Singapore’s newest openings, new menu launch and maybe some interesting limited time promotions.
Here’s some places you might want to visit this week.
Hai Di Lao
With major upsets and wins, The FIFA World Cup is currently down to its last 4 teams fighting for the championship! To that end, Hai Di Lao has curated a special menu for you and your fellow football (not soccer) fans to cheer on your favourite teams with live broadcasts of the World Cup at six of their outlets! Its new supper menu includes a new lineup of braised snacks: Braised Quail Eggs, Braised Chicken Feet, Braised Lotus Root, Braised Duck Tongue, Braised Beancurd Skin, Braised Kombu Knot, Braised Pig Ear, all of them braised to perfection to go along their already rich and filling hotpot to complete this unique football dining experience for local football fans!
Additionally, pair the dishes with an ice-cold mug of Haidilao Weissbier, Haidilao’s very own German-style wheat beer, which has won a Gold Award at the 2022 World Beer Awards (WBA).
The World Cup will be broadcasted live across six Hao Di Lao stores across Singapore until 20th December: Clarke Quay, 313 Somerset, IMM, VivoCity, MBS and Wisma Atria.

To celebrate the festive season, start off the meal and raise a toast to your loved ones with their festive cocktail- Santa’s Summer-cation, a rather strong rum and brandy-based cocktail that’s easy to drink, filled with a refreshing floral and zest of Sicilian lemonade, topped off with Sangiovese wine to complete its alluring look and a smoking ‘pipe’ that is akin to an actual chimney for Santa to climb down on!
Publico’s famous wood-fired sourdough pizza takes on a festive spin with La Nostra Pizza di Natale, a festive pizza that features savoury pork cotechino, sweet chestnuts and potato- which is a quinessential Italian combination that most Italians have at home with their loved ones that emphasizes the warmth of the Yuletide season!
Other highlights include the hearty Orecchiette Pugliese that utilizes freshly made in-house orecchiette pasta immersed in a rich broccolini sauce, topped with shaved black truffle and pecorino cheese for a decadent treat that feels like a warm hug from an old-school Italian grandmother! The Filetto di Merluzzo in Padella features a simple tender cod fish fillet delicately balanced with fragrant carnaroli rice made into a risotto, peas and Gallinacci mushrooms for a symphony of flavours and textures. This dish was mainly inspired by the Southern Italian tradition of celebrating Christmas Eve with a feast of seven fishes- an Italian-American celebration of Christmas Eve with dishes of fish and other seafood.

Winter Solstice this year falls on 22 December, to celebrate this occasion, Soup Restaurant has curated five new dishes and two set menus Winter Solstice Set and Celebration Set that showcases both classic favourites and mouth-watering new dishes that are good for 2 to 10 pax. Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie
Born out of a little dream of putting Asian cacao on the map, Homegrown bean-to-bar chocolate brand Mr. Bucket has since grown from a humble chocolaterie in Sin Ming in 2020 into one of the most beloved chocolate makers in Singapore with their artisanal chocolate treats that are made fresh daily, selling out on a regular basis. To that end, the brand has opened Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie a brand new chocolate lifestyle destination at Dempsey Hill that showcases a build-your-own chocolate slab station, an indoor and outdoor dining experience, as well as a new chocolate dispensary where guests can buy their favourite chocolate treats sustainably with their own containers.
The establishment’s Chocolate Cookies are a classic, and they come in two must-try 45% and 72% single origin chocolate versions. Other highlights include the Sea Salt Brownie, made with 80% chocolate and feuilletine ganache, that strikes the right balance between sweet and salty, as well as Banana Walnut Muffins made with 64% chocolate and walnut & cacao nib crumble.
To celebrate the festive season, the Warm Spiced Christmas Tart promises delicious flavours of Chai chocolate filling and orange anglaise with each bite, or pick the Festive Maple Apple Cake made with maple mascarpone, apple insert, Panchor cremeux, and maple sable breton.
To further enhance the chocolate experience, guests can indulge in a rich mug of Iced Chocolate, made by steeping 64% Panchor granules in milk, or the Iced Mocha, that uses 72% Dark Calinan granules combined with freshly grounded coffee beans from another local coffee company, Tad Coffee. Finally, those looking for a boozy kick to accompany their sweet treats can grab a glass or two of Mr. Bucket’s Cacao Wine.

Celebrate Christmas with your family and friends at another famous local homegrown cafe brand- PS.Cafe! The local cafe brand has pulled out all the stops to curate a wide selection of yuletide dishes to ensure that there will be something for everyone to enjoy at their outlets- from traditional favourites to modern, creative twists on some of the all-time favourite classics!
Some of the highlights include The Baked Brie, a simple yet yummy bowl of richness packed with the seasonal flavours of fig balsamic marmalade and sweet candied walnuts, the Petit Turkey Cranberry Caesar salad is the establishment’s take on a classic dish- comprising of baby cos, bacon, parmesan, baked croutons and a poached egg.

A festive twist on one of PS.Cafe’s iconic desserts, the Christmas Sticky Date Pudding features decadent rum and brandy soaked festive fruits set within its rich sponge. It is served drenched in a delicious brandy butterscotch sauce and topped with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. A takeaway option is also available to serve as a delicious Christmas dinner centrepiece for festive celebrations at home, or the perfect holiday gift for that special someone!
