Some days, you just feel like having an unpretentious afternoon tea – no dainty bites or dressing up, just good food and caffeine. With Ebi Bar and Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee‘s new collaborative High Coffee (S$21.90 per pax), that’s exactly what you can enjoy.

A mod-Sin concept known for their prawn-centric dishes, Ebi Bar offers an afternoon tea menu replete with delightful savoury dishes, including their famed Hokkien Noodles and Laksa, along with sweet treats like a moist chocolate cake and coconutty-fragrant Tapioca Cake. We especially enjoyed the Hokkien Noodles, scented with a delicious wokhei and topped with fresh sweet prawns, as well as the spicy Mala Shrimp Dumplings. Our favourite, however, had to be the Affogato – the sweet creamy vanilla ice-cream melting into the hot espresso and creating a delightful medley of flavours.

For this collaboration, there’s also coffee from Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee – take your pick from a stronger brew or a lighter, fruitier blend to pair with your food. Just a tip – go for the stronger brew to pair with the savouries, then switch to the lighter blend for dessert! Made using the pour-over style, the fragrant bittersweet coffee was a delight to sip on.

Joanne Lim, co-founder of Ebi Bar says, “Collaborating with like-minded local brands has always been a focal point for Ebi Bar and we are very pleased that the first collaboration we are going to have is with Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee. Tiong Hoe has a rich history and they believe in pushing themselves to create a better cup of coffee. At Ebi Bar, we are the same as we strive to provide the best prawn broth in Singapore. It is a perfect match.” Jacob Tan, co-founder of Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee agrees, saying, “The thought of collaborating with Ebi Bar, is intriguing. We thought it would be very interesting to see how our coffees can pair with foods from a modern-Singaporean restaurant like Ebi Bar. I am very glad that after some R&D, we are able to create a menu that carries the essence of both brands, while still providing something very delicious to foodies in Singapore.”

Don’t miss out, because the High Coffee will only run for a limited period of time – 4th to 5th and 11th to 12th Dec, with seatings at either 2 to 3.30pm or 3.30pm to 5pm The set comes with with free-flow coffee from Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee and tea; or you can top up S$24.80 per person to get a free-flow alcoholic option which includes prosecco, red and white wines, and beers.
