Popular China Sauerkraut Fish Concept YAO YAO with Over 60 Outlets in China Opens in Singapore

YAO YAO Sauerkraut Fish, a popular Sauerkraut Fish Concept from Shenzen, China has opened its flagship outlet in Singapore at VivoCity.

Following the success of its overseas locations in Chicago, Hong Kong, not to mention its over 60 outlets in China, YAO YAO serves both Sauerkraut Fish and Peking Duck to diners.

Dishes here include the Signature YAO YAO Sauerkraut Fish (2 persons S$48 / 3-4 persons S$68 / 5-6 persons S$88). Sliced California White Seabass cooked alongside sauerkraut that has been fermented for 24 days. The two ingredients are soused in a broth that takes eight hours to simmer, the broth has spices that are specially sourced from Sichuan, China.

YAO YAO Super Combination

YAO YAO is also the first in Singapore to offer gourmands a combination of two flavours in a bowl. Pair the Signature YAO YAO Sauerkraut Fish with three different options. Enjoy an east-meets-west creation with the Hong Kong-style Typhoon Shelter Shrimp with Fries.The shrimps and fries are deep-fried to golden-brown perfection.

Be whisked away to the province with the Sichuan Poached Fish — the fish is cooked gently so it retains its tenderness. The medley of Sichuan spices imbues the fish with a hot-sour note. Lastly, for those who do not take spicy food, the Tomato Fish delivers an interesting interplay of sour and sweet.

Other dishes and appetizers include the succulent Peking Duck, Sour and Spicy Organic White Fungus, Chilled Lettuce with Sesame Sauce, Sichuan Spicy Poached Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pickles Radish.

End your meal with YAO YAO’s desserts, the Rainbow Cold Jelly (S$8) a homemade oolong jelly garnished with raisins, red beans, hawthorn, and barley, the Red Bean Cold Jelly (S$3), which features a copious amount of red beans and hawthorn. Or opt for the homemade Chilled Layered Coconut Pudding (S$9), which is made with 100% pure coconut water. A palate cleanser, the coconut pudding is silky and smooth.
