Celebrate and appreciate your parents this May and June with well-loved local Chinese restaurant, Soup Restaurant’s curated set menus and specialty dishes! As the saying goes, the way to one’s heart is through the stomach – pamper your parents with an array of nourishing dishes filled with premium ingredients, from Double-boiled Fresh Fish Maw with Ginseng in Black Chicken Soup, to a hearty Abalone Seafood Pot, as well as Soup Restaurant’s signature Samsui Ginger Chicken.
Available through May and June for a belated Mother’s Day or the upcoming Father’s Day, there are two special set menus that comprise timeless favourites along with new, exclusive dishes. Starting from $78 for 2 persons, these menus are available for take-away and delivery, in light of the new COVID-19 regulations.
Warm your stomachs by starting with the nourishing Double-boiled Fresh Fish Maw with Ginseng in Black Chicken Soup. Made with fresh cod fish maw and ginseng, filled with ingredients like scallop, pork ribs, black chicken and dried longan; the soup is double-boiled for more than four hours daily and filled with the natural sweetness of its ingredients.
To add on to the luxury, there is also the Abalone Seafood Pot: a mildly spicy pot of delights featuring baby abalone, fish maw, shiitake mushrooms, braised in a delicious umami sauce along with dried chillies for an added kick. There is also the Steamed Uncle Lapan Fish with Cordyceps Flower – delightfully tender, almost creamy flesh, coupled with a fragrant soy sauce make for a wonderful combination.
How could we miss the Samsui Ginger Chicken – a classic Soup Restaurant dish! Wrap the slices of poached chicken with the crisp lettuce, and have them with a generous dollop of the accompanying minced ginger or chilli – we especially enjoyed the latter. The takeaway combo also comes with the Mui Choy Braised Pork Butterfly Buns, where fluffy mantou are paired with tender braised pork belly.
For the vegetables, there is the Tie Ding Mushroom with Prawns, set atop a forest of broccoli. And to fill up your stomachs a little more, dig into the Samsui Ginger Rice with Baby Abalone & Pine Nuts, a special collaboration Soup Restaurant has with the Japan Rice Export Association. Japanese rice specially imported from the Iwate prefecture in northern Japan is steamed, before being tossed with toasted pine nuts, seaweed and Soup Restaurant’s signature Samsui ginger sauce for both crunch and flavour. Topped with juicy baby abalone and umami dried shrimp, this is a dish we wowed over and relished with delight.
Finish the meal on a sweet note with the gorgeous Handmade Rose Buns, filled with a smooth red bean that is not overly sweet. There is also the refreshing Citrus Jelly with Aloe Vera for a palate cleanser!
In these uncertain times, please do stay safe – the Celebration and Appreciation menus are available for takeaway and delivery online. The menus are also available on Deliveroo, GrabFood and Foodpanda. Free delivery is available with a minimum spending of S$120. Place your order online via Online or call Soup Restaurant’s hotline: +65 6645 9330 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm).
