Aloha Poké Turns Into A Hawaiian Tiki Bar at Night

In the heart of Sinapoa’s (Hawaiian for Singapore’s) Amoy Street, the flagship Aloha Poké continues to be abuzz with the lunchtime crowd as one of the most popular go-tos and favorite poké bowl joints in the CBD. Come 5.30pm, the neon halakahiki (Hawaiian for pineapple and symbol for Hawaii), which sits at the entrance, switches on as the poké bowl outlet transforms to the city’s one and only Tiki Bar, beckoning one and all with a sunny welcome for a little escape to a Hawaiian world – from the rustic décor right down to the scorpion bowls, not forgetting the deliciously moreish pokes and Tiki treats and of course, the signature island cocktails.
In true Hawaiian spirit, Aloha Poké’s night-time persona – the Tiki Bar – is a haven that is perfect for the after-work crowd looking to chill out and unwind after a day in the office. Just as the popular lunchtime poké bowl was created to give Singaporeans an authentic slice of Hawaii, the signature cocktails and Tiki treats follow through with Hawaiian inspirations.
The bestselling rum-based cocktail Fiery Passion, with its shades of lime, lemongrass and vanilla, is served with a flaming passionfruit, among the island’s favorite fruits; the White Crest, with its three types of rum shaken with orgeat syrup and guava is topped off with a charred homemade coconut meringue to mimic the white crests seen over the shores of Oahu; and the Mauna Loa was inspired by the world’s largest active volcano with its gin and aperol cocktail infused with bacon wood-chip smoke. Perfect for getting the party spirit going is the Scorpion Bowl, a hearty sharing cocktail, while the Hawaii-Five 0 shot containing five different types of spirits packs the party-punch.
In addition to the signature cocktails, craft beer lovers will enjoy a refreshing selection from Hawaii’s famous Kona Brewing Company, including Longboard Lager, Big Wave Golden Ale and Hanalei IPA. The Tiki Bar also carries unique cider flavours such as Coconut and Lime, and Cloudy Lemon, which epitomize the island spirit.
Complementing the range of refreshing tropical beverages is a menu that rounds off the spirit of Tiki, with highlights including the traditional favorite Lomi Lomi Salmon with avocado and topped with an onsen egg; the Roasted Pork Belly with charred pineapple cubes; and the air-fried Aloha Wings served with Aloha Signature Sauce. For those who can’t get enough of poké, there’s the Ultimate Poké Bowl, supersized with two poké flavors, seasoned rice and generous toppings of superfoods. Ideal for parties is the Aloha Poké Luau (a traditional Hawaiian party or feast)selection of Hawaiian classicssuch as Kalua Pig Burrito, Chicken Short Rice, Loco Moco and Salt Crusted Salmon Head.
Aloha Poké Tiki Bar switches on its neon halakahiki from 5.30pm every Monday to Saturday, welcoming everyone to the true spirit-of-Tiki experience in Sinapoa. Just look for the sunny halakahiki along the side lane next to Aloha Poké off Amoy Street and escape to the Tiki world of Hawaii.
