To celebrate over 180 years of its history since its inception, The Glen Grant introduces its Splendours Collection with a crown jewel: an extraordinary 65-Year-Old Glen Grant Single Malt first distilled in 1958. This inaugural release, nurtured for six decades in a single French oak cask, embodies the distillery’s relentless pursuit of excellence and reverence for tradition. Each sip promises to capture the essence of time, bridging generations of craftsmanship in one of the rarest whiskies ever crafted.
Inspired by the elusive Himalayan Blue Poppy—one of the rarest flowers on earth grown in the distillery’s Garden of Splendours. The decanter, a handcrafted masterpiece by John Galvin and Glasstorm, opens up into a sculpted Mobius strip seed pod, symbolizing nature’s infinite cycles. Adorned with engraved poppies and crafted from garden-sourced wood, it’s a tactile ode to the distillery’s heritage and its founder, James “The Major” Grant, whose pioneering spirit shaped this legacy.
Distilled in slender coal-fired stills and aged in the distiller’s warehouse no.4, the whisky reveals deep mahogany hues and a profile of treacle-drenched blackberries, sunlit orange zest, and sandalwood elegance. Layers of black cherry, fruitcake, and dates dance on the palate, culminating in a finish kissed by citrus, spice, and whispers of oak smoke.
Limited to just 151 decanters, this 65-Year-Old joins its other ultra-luxury expressions, such as the Devotion 70-Year-Old, reaffirming Glen Grant’s mastery of rarity. For collectors and connoisseurs alike, the 65-Year-Old is a testament to nature’s fleeting beauty and human ingenuity and pays homage to Speyside’s golden era. Savor the essence of history, one extraordinary dram at a time.
