Illuminate Medispa Takes On Restorative Healing Through Non-invasive Medical Aesthetics

The typical medical aesthetics clinic is an experience similar to visiting a clinic or doctor, with bright lights, sterile environments and a brisk pace. And if you’ve ever been to a medical aesthetic center in Korea, you’ll have experienced a factory-like clinic where consultations and treatments are simultaneously happening. Enter Illuminate Medispa, the first medical aesthetics destination at Dempsey where the entire experience takes center stage in a personalized, holistic approach.

When you first step into the clinic, the warm lights and plush interiors make Illuminate Medispa seem more like a spa. The medical spa has 12 treatment rooms to treat various body and skin issues, with three signature treatments: ONDA Pro from Italy which is a body and face sculpting system that reduces fat and contours using microwave energy, the Trifecta Glow, the medispa’s exclusive laser programme that improves skin texture, pigmentation and scars in one quick session, and Botox Refresh, a natural injectable experience that softens lines whilst still maintaining healthy facial expression. Other treatments also include microneedling, anti-ageing injectables like dermal fillers, as well as hydra facials.

We had the opportunity to try out the Trifecta Glow Laser, a quick and nearly painless treatment with close to no down time. The three in one laser facial starts with a consultation with the doctor, who assesses your skin condition and answer any and all questions to ensure that the treatment will effectively treat your concerns.

The Trifecta Glow treatment starts with a warm and prickly Erbium (ER:YAG) Laser to resurface the skin and get rid of dead skin cells. During the whole process, the Illuminate Medispa team was attentive to all my needs and reassurances throughout the process. The second laser was the Nd:YAG Laser, meant to stimulates collagen production for firmer skin, before finishing with a Yellow Laser to brighten the skin tone calm redness for a clearer complexion.

The lasers were completed in about 10 minutes, and while there was a bit of discomfort which will depend on your pain levels, the treatment ends with a face mask to calm your skin and soothe your pores. The aftercare also included advice on taking care of my skin as well as a soothing cream for any itching overnight, but the treatment promised close to zero downtime. True to its promise, my skin had nearly no issues and the results were instantly noticeable as soon as the next day as people already noticed a difference.
