Tod’s x 8 Moncler Palm Angels
Tod’s announces a collaboration on two Tod’s iconic products, reinterpreted by Palm Angels for Moncler Genius. The “Tod’s x 8 Moncler Palm Angels” project is part of Tod’s-FACTORY, a creative laboratory where established and emerging designers are invited to offer a new point of view on the Tod’s DNA. As part of Moncler Genius, Tod’s teams up with Palm Angels, collaborating with Francesco Ragazzi, the brand’s creative director.
Photographed by Philadelphia-born shooting star Quil Lemons and featuring supermodel, philanthropist and forever icon Naomi Campbell. Francesco Ragazzi’s enduring idolatry of American culture plays out in a sports-inspired collection that’s elegantly framed by Miami’s sugary shores. Campbell models a louche approach to the sporting theme: the striking gold Keon jacket gains an almost indignant allure paired with gold track pants, a sun lounger and her own defiant gaze.
This partnership translates the message of lifestyle and the great quality of Italian craftsmanship into the contemporary language of new generations who love to celebrate the active spirit of American sports. The creative energy and roots in Palm Angels and its love for American Pop culture transform two timeless Tod’s icons for Moncler Genius, the Gommino and the W.G., two must-haves for Winter 2022.
“Tod’s iconic design was my starting point when I began this project. I have great admiration for what the brand stands for: the values it expresses are linked to our culture of beauty, which is what distinguishes us internationally and that is recognised by everyone. We talk a lot about Made in Italy but, in my opinion, it is never enough. Perhaps we are too used to being surrounded by beauty and sometimes we take it for granted. In reality it is not at all obvious. Behind a brand like Tod’s there is the dedication, the research, the craftsmanship of a team of skilled people not only technically, but also humanly, that transfer in what they do all their passion”, said Francesco Ragazzi.
