Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, strategically located in Central, one of Hong Kong’s shopping and business district has been around for 61 years and till now continues to impress discerning travellers, business travellers and expats.

The experience begins the moment you step into the high ceiling grandiose lobby, you will be greeted by the dazzling chandeliers with a contemporary opulence ambiance. Check-in is also done at the lobby while Suite & Club room guests can check-in at the newly renovated exclusive Mandarin Club on the 23rd floor where you can enjoy drinks, light bites and scenic view of Hong Kong while your room is being prepared.

We stayed at 775 square feet Harbour View Suite which features an Asian minimalist décor with floor-to-ceiling windows with amazing views of Statue Square and Central, Hong Kong. While we think that the room needs a facelift, the room décor still maintains its timeless classic Hong Kong history by its luxurious antiques and Chinese design elements, maintaining its elegance.

The highlight of the room is the spacious bathroom which features twin vanities on each side with a stunning bath tub in the middle and a separate walk-in glass shower behind. Not to mention, the bathroom also features a stunning panoramic views of the Victoria harbour which you can admire while you soak in the tub.

Dining wise, you will be spoilt for choice with 9 Dining outlets and The Mandarin Club, the hotel’s exclusive club lounge which spans 6,200 square feet and provides unobstructed views of the Statue Square and the Victoria Harbour. Here, club room and suite guests enjoy an all-day culinary delights from Breakfast, afternoon tea, light snacks, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, tea and coffee throughout the day and evening canapes with Ruinart Champagne, Wine and cocktails and more.

Clipper Lounge

Must-Try is the newly renovated Clipper Lounge located on the mezzanine floor, a timeless favourite destination for dining by locals and tourists alike, this is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant serving buffet breakfast, ala-carte lunch, afternoon tea and buffet dinner serving fresh seafood and local delights. At night, must visit is The Aubrey, ranked 10th on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list in 2024, try to book the four-seater omakase cocktail bar where you can enjoy their bespoke cocktails and wide selection of Japanese spirits and sake. They also offer an Izakaya experience serving lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends.

Facilities wise, the property features an 18-meter indoor pool, fitness centre, a 1930’s Shanghai theme Barber and Mandarin Oriental’s signature The Oriental Spa which offers a range of treatments from massages, facials and body therapies including Yoga and Pilates.

Overall, location wise, the superb dining options and excellent facilities, we will definitely come back to stay again at this property.
