Staycation Review: Ascott Orchard Singapore Redefines The Art Of Fine Living
CONTENT: Michelle Ng
Stepping into Ascott Orchard’s lobby will take you away from the hustle of Orchard Road and into the modern art gallery. LV trunks and spiral chandeliers with art pieces decorate the lobby, inspired by Ascott’s art-inspired brand refresh that focuses on the understated luxury experience. The lobby makes you feel right at home instead of a waiting area, where you can easily spend a few hours enjoying the art.
Strategically located right in the heart of Singapore’s retail haven, Ascott Orchard is very convenient for those looking for a short getaway to enjoying a few months right inn the midst of the action. Paragon Shopping Mall is connected to Ascott Orchard by a linkbridge, and is surrounded by a handful of malls within a 5 minute-walk radius, where the rooms look out over.
Ascott Orchard has also recently reopened, having renovated their rooms and implemented more sustainable touches. Bamboo keycards made out of recycled wood has been rolled out across all Ascott properties, and are firm to the bend. One-time use bottles have also been removed as should be the norm now, with water dispensers and pump soap dispensers installed. We liked how the pantry was fitted with a microwave, which will definitely come in handy to reheat food and the selection of wine glasses and cutlery to elevate dining in your room.
The rooms are decked in hues of cream and beige, a timeless yet classy designed to help you relax and unwind. The floor-to-ceiling windows let in a lot of sunlight, opening up the room and making it feel larger. The electrical outlets are strategically placed around the bed and the workspace, which is great to ease into working on the go for business travelers.
The themed rooms at Ascott Orchard takes quiet luxury to new heights, where each room is outfitted in Fendi Casa furniture and elegant furnishings. Stay in comfort with Fendi-branded carpets, Fendi leather chairs – which are very comfortable – and Fendi cushions, which will definitely give you a taste of the finer things in life.
Take a dip in the pool or work up a sweat in the 24 hour gym, which are small but enough to keep you satisfied. Next to the pool is a fully outfitted kitchen and lounge area, where you can make yourself some food or savour the good life with friends and family.
