We are less than three weeks to the Lunar New Year and everyone has been very busy preparing for this festive occasion by purchasing brand new clothes, planning the activities during the 15 day period and of course, checking out the snacks and treats to for their families and friends.
Bakerzin has always been well-known in Singapore for their delicious cakes and pastries. This year, Bakerzin launches four unique flavours of Pineapple Tarts created especially for this occasion; Golden Ingot Original Pineapple Tarts, XO Golden Pillow Pineapple Tarts, Chrysanthemum Pineapple Tarts and Hae Bee Hiam Pineapple Tarts ( Spicy Dried Shrimp Sambal).
This is the first year i am trying their Chinese New Year goodies and i was immediately smitten by the variety of flavours they got. I only managed to try two out of the four flavours that they are offering, so let me start with my favourite, The traditional Golden Ingot Original Pineapple Tarts 黄金旺来 (s$23.80/ 18pcs) which is packaged in a nice tin box which is perfectly suitable for any type of gifting. I love the smooth texture of the outer layer shaped in a Golden Ingot which leaves you the feeling of you ushering in good wealth and fortune for this year, and if you gift to your loved ones and friends, you are at the same time sharing the fortune to them.
The XO Golden Pillow Pineapple Tarts “狗”杞黄金枕 (s$32/ 18pcs) which is limited only to 500 boxes is a unique flavour which adults would love more than the young adults. Having grow up enjoying some XO dishes from fine dining Chinese restaurants without even knowing what is XO – thanks to my parents, this is something young adults would want to give the parents with. Something premium but not heavy on your packet. I am definitely sure our parents would love it especially its XO, not to mention Bakerzin uses only premium XO liquor where the pineapple fibres and wolfberries are pre-soaked for up to a month to bring out the essence of the delicacy.
For those not into Pineapple tarts, Bakerzin has also introduced their Good Luck Cookies 好运连连 (s$23.80/ 8 flavours/ 8 packs) which comes in eight unique flavours – Long Jing Tea, Coconut Chia Seeds, Cereal Salted Egg Yolk, Orange, Charcoal Black Sesame, Chocolate, Coffee and Thai Milk Tea, all eight flavours are baked low in sugar, perfect for kids and adults alike. My personal favourite would be the Cereal Salted Egg Yolk which comes with a hint of everyone’s favourite Salted Egg flavour and the Orange, which is bursts the orange flavour inside your mouth which makes your feel that you are really enjoying a real orange.
For those who haven’t tried Bakerzin’s Lunar New Year treats, i would suggest you to try and check it out, you wouldn’t be disappointed!
