MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021 Selection To Be Revealed Online on 1 September 2021
Michelin announces the new selection of the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021 to be officially revealed via a virtual event at 3pm Singapore Time on 1 September 2021, in consideration of the health measures taking place in Singapore during the global Covid-19 pandemic.
This year marks the fifth edition of the MICHELIN Guide Singapore, which will introduce a new award, the MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award. The MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award is given to a young chef of a MICHELIN starred restaurant with exceptional talent and great potential.
The live stream of the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021 Digital Star Revelation will be available on MICHELIN Guide’s Singapore’s official Facebook page, as well as the regional MICHELIN Guide Asia YouTube channel.
The full selection of MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021 will also be available on MICHELIN Guide’s official website and the MICHELIN Guide mobile app which enables you to find every restaurant and hotel in the world selected by the MICHELIN Guide.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, says “Despite the challenges posed by 2020, it has been impressive to observe how the chefs and their teams were able to reinvent and adapt to the unfolding situation. On top of managing their restaurants, they also united in looking out for the most in need in their communities, from feeding migrant workers and frontline workers, to setting up welfare funds for displaced F&B staff.
In the 2021 edition, we pay tribute to the perseverance and dedication of these professionals, who continue to bring us together over the finest gastronomy and experiences. I believe the readers of the MICHELIN Guide and all food lovers are impatient to continue discovering Singapore’s exciting and resilient dining scene, and indeed to also rediscover the reinventions that have taken place over the last year and more.”
Celebrating the fifth edition of the MICHELIN Guide in Singapore, Michelin commissioned local designer Eric Foenander to create a special 5th Anniversary artwork that draws inspiration from local heritage, diversity and colours of Singapore’s iconic landmarks and gastronomy.
The highly anticipated Bib Gourmand selection, which lists restaurants offering ‘good quality, good value cooking’, will be released on 12 August 2021.
