Lunar New Year is the perfect time to gather around a table and celebrate with loved ones, whether it’s family, friends, or a mix of both. From the communal feasts at Violet Oon to the modern charm of Tablescape, dining out this season is all about sharing dishes, laughter, and memories. After all, it’s not just about the food—it’s the joy of being together that makes every meal unforgettable.

Here’s our picks for 2026:

VO Fragrant Yu Sheng

Celebrate Chinese New Year Perenakan-style with Violet Oon. The Violet Oon Fragrant Smoked Salmon Yu Sheng is an auspicious way to kickstart the meal, with fresh smoked salmon mixed with tropical ingredients like kaffir lime leaves, pink ginger flowers, sweet beetroot, and the crunchy ice plant. The yu sheng is only available for dine-in for ala carte orders, or as part of the special Chinese New Year set menu. There are four Chinese New Year set menus curated by the Violet Oon team, and will be served tok-panjang style in the private dining rooms. The menus are curated based on the number of pax, with signature dishes like Kuey Pie Tee, Ayam Buah Keluak, Chap Chye, and Nasi Ulam, and all meals will end with a selection of handmade kuehs.

The VO Fragrant Smoked Salmon Yu Sheng is available exclusively for dine-in at all restaurants from 20 January to 3 March 2026, with four special Chinese New Year Set Menus available to book at their private dining rooms

Inside Tablescape’s elegant dining room, tuck into the Prosperity Set Menu, which starts from 2 pax and can be increase to suit your group size. Expect dishes like a nutritious double-boiled Silky Chicken Broth with Forest Mushrooms & Fish Maw, a Braised Beancurd Casserole stuffed with shrimp, scallops, and sea cucumber, crispy lychee Prawn Balls. End off with Golden Fried Rice, with plump prawns and ikura for a burst of umami, before sweetening things up with a Chilled Mango Sago – a favourite classic that honors the comfort of meaningful flavours.

Anglo-Chinese restaurant Chopsuey draws inspirations from the vibrant yet fresh flavours of chrysanthemum, lychee and pomegranate for their 2026 Chinese New Year menus.

There are two set menus – the Longevity Set suitable for 4-6 people or the Abundance Set for 10 people, both of which features the Yuzu Yusheng to start off the meal with the traditional lo hei, before tucking into dishes like the Chrysanthemum Roast Chicken, Pomegranate Pork Rubs, Truffle & Foie Gras Rice, and Almond Prawn Fritters with Lychee. The dishes are also offered on the ala carte menu, along with a refreshing Chrysanthemum and Yuzu pudding to end the meal.

Michelin-experienced chef Ben Yapp starts off his stint at Sum Dim Sum with a Chinese New Year feast inspired by the Year of the Fire Horse, so you can expect dishes with strength-building ingredients, slow-cooked broth, and vibrant presentations. The highlights from the Chinese New Year seasonal menu from 16 February to 19 February includes SDS’s Ginseng-Infused Superior Broth Dumpling with Baby Chinese Lettuce, Steamed Live Coral Trout with Green Sichuan Peppercorn Oil, and a Premium Double-Boiled Bird’s Nest with Imperial Almond Cream in Whole Coconut Accompanied by Firecracker Thousand-Layer Taro Puff. The dishes come in festive set menus, where you can choose from 6 or 10 pax options, which all starts with a yu sheng to kick off the celebratory meal and curated dishes to suit a variety of tastes.
