Hot! Superclub, Zouk Singapore has found a new home!

Zouk Singapore

Singapore’s clubbing icon Zouk has found a new home – and the superclub is set to make its move from Jiak Kim Street to the new premises at Block C at Clarke Quay next year when its current lease on Jiak Kim Street, which the club has occupied since 1991, expires in Dec 2015.

With the new lease inked on the new 30,000 sq ft premises at Block C in Clarke Quay, the 24-year-old superclub is targeting to complete its relocation to the new space from between June and September 2016 – with the provision for delays in renovations and other administrative matters for the superclub to operate at its new premises.

Before it makes the move, the club icon is planning a series of parties and farewell bashes, the last party on Jiak Kim Street is targeted to be held in May 2016 and will at the same time commemorate its silver jubilee (25 years), a series of parties is also being planned that will lead up to Zouk’s new club opening in Clarke Quay next year.

Zouk Singapore Founder, Lincoln (June 2012)

Zouk founder Lincoln Cheng says: “We are happy that Zouk has found a new home to move to, where it will continue its legacy for the next generation. The move to a new venue was inevitable, a foregone conclusion, so when the space at Clarke Quay became available, we set out immediately to move to the new venue, to make our new home at the earliest opportunity. It is a project we have embarked on from design to planning to the eventual move and to embrace the future that is ahead of us.”

He adds: “We’ve considered every potential venue very carefully – from its location and accessibility to the cost of building it up, and of course whether or not it was feasible for the venue considered to house a superclub.

“Clarke Quay has always been identified as one of Singapore’s key entertainment hubs, and with Zouk being the No. 7 club in the world [DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs 2015 global poll], along with all our other pre-requisites being met, we identified Clarke Quay as being the most ideal venue for us to grow our new roots at.”

Mr Ong Kee Leng, Clarke Quay’s Centre Manager, says: “Over the years, Clarke Quay has contributed to the revitalisation of Singapore River by unlocking the potential of riverfront dining and astutely synergising premier entertainment with local heritage.  In a similar fashion, Zouk has successfully transformed three old warehouses at Jiak Kim Street into a world-renowned club.  We are confident that its new home at Clarke Quay will enable Zouk to continue growing its brand while leveraging on the conducive business environment and strong operational support from Clarke Quay’s team.”
