The cruise line’s ships Genting Dream and World Dream will be presenting a wide range of Christmas themed activities, decorations and heart-warming entertainment to all of their guests who are embarking on a cruise from now until 1st January 2022!
Guests will be able to kick start their Christmas-themed cruise with an eye-catching lighting ceremony that will light up the ship into a winter wonderland- even on the open ocean! Kick-start “A Nordic Christmas Adventure” with an Advent Calendar and witness the magical miniature Santa Express train that will make its way through a delightful miniature Gingerbread Town and moving on to the Zouk Beach Club where guests can explore a quaint Nordic village illuminated by twinkle lights, with a centrepiece attraction of a festive Swedish yule goat in the village square. Guests and their families will also get the chance to meet Santa and ask for Christmas gifts!
At the Nordic Market, guests can pick up a wide range of classic Christmas treats, festive hampers, Scandinavian souvenirs and there will be unique photo opportunities with all-time favourite Christmas characters to help guests preserve the experience of celebrating Christmas on board!
No Christmas would not be complete without gathering around a table and indulging in a sumptuous feast with loved ones on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. At the The Lido and Dream Dining Room, the traditional holiday mainstays highlights will include roast turkey, slipper lobster, Gammon ham, roasted beef tenderloin, honey glazed Norwegian salmon, ginger-spiced chocolate cake, Christmas cookies, Swedish St. Lucia saffron buns. To enhance their dining experience, guests can opt for dining in specialty restaurants such as Prime Steakhouse & Seafood Grill or Umi Uma that offers up Wagyu beef, foie gras, tiger prawns, oysters and other exquisite delicacies.
Guests can sit back and relax in the state-of-the-art Zodiac Theatre and watch familiar live family-friendly Christmas productions that will definitely bring back fond Christmas memories and create new ones especially among younger guests! “Verry Christmas” will take place on board Genting Dream as guests will be treated to a Christmas spectacular complete with Santa Claus, elves, an evil Snow Queen and even a polar bear! “Jolly Holly” will take place on World Dream as guests will be treated to an old fashioned child-like imagination of what Christmas should be about- fun times with just a hint of magic and a highly talented team of performers performing death-defying acrobatic stunts that will blow everyone’s mind away!
Additionally from now to 18 December on board Genting Dream, the renowned musical theatre performer Eli Zaelo, from the cast of “The Lion King Musical” and “Titanic The Musical”, will be performing at the Nordic Village square to share her talent and spread joy to passengers.
Finally, guests can partake in a variety of Nordic-inspired handicraft workshops for kids and adults who are young at heart! Visit the “elf-service” Tomte Bar to pick favourite accessories to create a personalized tomte in the “Build A Swedish Tomte Workshop” where staff members will be dressed in a certain festive costume from a hit TV show and guide you in creating your own santa-inspired sock as a souvenir for guests to hang in their home! Other workshops include the “Norway Northern Lights Scratch Art”, “Nordic Christmas Ornament Making”, “Danish Weave Knitted Cup Cozy DIY” and the “Julehjerter Danish Heart Weaving” workshop.
“Dream Cruises is delighted to continue to bring the world onto our ships with “A Nordic Christmas Adventure”, offering an immersive and multi-sensory holiday experience for a truly international Super Seacation! After all, the year-end festive season is a perfect time to relax and unwind and we invite our guests to bond with friends, family and loved ones with activities and flavors inspired by Nordic traditions and cultures.” said Mr. Michael Goh, President of Dream Cruises.
In accordance with the prevailing guidelines by the Singapore authorities, Dream Cruises has opened World Dream sailings to non-residents in Singapore, as well as international travellers, including those entering the country via the Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTLs). This marks a new milestone for Dream Cruises that will help to fuel the recovery of the cruise industry in Singapore and regionally.
