Mitzo Celebrates the Singapore National Day with Heritage Inspired Menu

Iconic Singapore Chilli Lobster served with _Mantou_

This National Day, Mitzo is taking guests on a heritage-inspired culinary trail to rediscover some of Singapore’s most loved local dishes.

The celebratory menu, which is available throughout August features the iconic “Hainanese” Chicken Rice. The fragrant rice lays a perfect base to allow the sweet Pork Neck “Satay” and spicy Seafood “Otah” to shine on this plate, delivering a swirl of harmonious flavours. In true Cantonese style, there is no better way to complete a rice dish than with a classic Chinese soup. On the menu is Abalone “Bak Kut Teh”, this meticulously boiled soup is an elevated interpretation of the traditional soup that Singaporeans have grown to love.

Executive Chef Nicky Ng celebrates the defining dish of Singapore’s food heritage with his tribute to the Singapore Chilli Crab. The Iconic Singapore Chilli Lobster served with “Mantou” is just as its name suggests. An age-old classic, the focus of this dish is in showcasing the purest flavours of this national dish, delivering the impeccable balance between a hint of spice and the sweetness that makes this a palatable dish for all to enjoy.

Seafood _Hokkien_Fried Noodles

Another hawker favourite and a hearty dish to complete the entrées is Seafood “Hokkien” Fried Noodles. Top quality seafood is used in the preparation of this dish, infusing the noodles with its rich flavours. Finally, Chef Nicky combines Chilled Beancurd Jelly, Coconut Ice Cream and Deep-fried Creamy Banana in a perfect union of sweet and savoury flavours. This dish sums up the eclectic fares that make up Singapore’s food heritage, concluding Chef Nicky’s elegant interpretation of national classics.
