Bali Thai Adds A Touch Of Indonesian-Thai Flair To The Festivities Feasting With Their CNY Menus

With new restrictions placed for Chinese New Year this year, the festive mood is a bit more muted. But you can still enjoy gatherings and reunion dinners with your loved ones on other days with a delicious meal with a twist!
Bali Thai has launched their CNY menu, with classic Chinese-style dishes given an Indonesian-Thai upgrade to add some spice into the occasion. The CNY bundles are catered for 4 to 8 (because social distancing), and are available for dine-in or delivery.
The star of any CNY meal is none other than the Prosperity Thai Yu Sheng, with ingredients like green mango, cashew nuts, jellyfish, ginger flower, and lemon leaves. Then you get an option of fresh prawns or crispy fish skin. We went for the crispy fish skin to add a bit more crunch and texture to the yusheng! If you’re a vegetarian or prefers fruity yusheng (yes, it’s a thing), go for the Vegetarian Yu Sheng option which we heard has interesting options like fresh strawberries, kiwis and fried mushrooms.
Bali Thai has put together two different menus with various dishes. Must-have dishes at a CNY dinner like a whole fish dish and fish maw soup are given a twist. The Bountiful Harvest menu has a smaller number of dishes as it’s catered for 4 to 6 people. If you have enough people or stomach space to go round, opt for the Spring Blossoms Menu as it features bigger and better dishes!
The popular Fish Maw & Crab Meat with Golden Mushroom Soup returns, and the thick and chunky pieces of crab meat is swimming in a comforting broth packed with collagen. The King Prawns With Cereal, which are only available in the Spring Blossoms Menu, are fresh and crunchy, and covered in a delicious layer of crispy cereal. It’s a tough decision to pick between the Hokkaido Squid, which is stuffed with chicken and water chestnut for a flavourful crunch, and the Grilled Wagyu Beef, where thick, juicy chunks of beef comes served on the grill, but we would go for the beef if we came back again. The tender bites of beef comes in a thick savoury black pepper sauce and curry leaf sauce, giving it an intense spicy kick.
Both menus finish with a Thai favourite – Thai Tapioca with Coconut Cream. The savoury cubes of tapioca mesh well together with the sweet cream to nicely wrap up the meal.
