Local patisserie brand LUNA has opened its newest outlet at Joo Chiat Road with exclusive cakes and tarts!

Born out of a sweet and intense burning passion for dessert, LUNA, has officially opened its second outlet in the quaint and cafe-populated enclave of Joo Chiat. Dessert lovers will be able to try an exclusive array of sweet and savoury treats that can only be found at LUNA’s new outlet. Aptly named as the ‘New Frontiers’, the new collection of cakes and tarts casts the spotlight on interesting ingredients such as buckwheat, rhubarb, cassis and even tofu!
The new outlet also plays host to the the patisserie’s first specialty chocolate-making showroom right in front of the entrance to the cafe! Flanked by glass windows facing the dining area and the walkway outside, customers and passersby will have a literal view into the process of the making of one of LUNA’s new highlights – nine fun flavours of handcrafted chocolate bon bons that will be freely given to customers on the house!
Guests can enjoy a whole host of new sweet treats such as the Tofu (S$8),that resembles an actual block of protein with its smooth snow-white outer layer while encasing a layer of vanilla sponge and hazelnut praline within. The Cassis Chocolate (S$9) sandwiches visually striking purple-hued cassis cremeux and crispy white chocolate feuilletine between plush layers of classic chocolate Victoria sponge, topped off with a decorative flower piece that will definitely makes its presence known on the dining table.
The Caramel Banana Chocolate (S$9) combines 46% milk chocolate cremeux, chopped walnuts and caramelised bananas in a buttery vanilla tart shell dotted with bright violet-coloured petals that is sure to win over anyone with a sweet tooth. The Rhubarb Strawberry ($9) embodies the definition of a perfect dessert with its delicate strawberry mousse and tangy rhubarb strawberry compote cloaked in glossy pink mirror glaze, atop a vanilla tart shell filled with fragrant almond frangipane that completes its jaw-dropping look. Finally, the Strawberry Vanilla Panna Cotta ($9.50) stands out with its layers of creamy vanilla panna cotta with sweet strawberry cremeux served in a tall serving glass.
Fans of LUNA’s signature classics can also indulge in their all time favourites such as their Orh Nee Cake (S$8), the Goma x PB Sponge Cake (S$9), the Matcha Opera (S$8.50) and the LUNA 2.0 (S$9)!
Apart from their new sweet treats and signature contemporary desserts, LUNA is also offering up their range of classic bakes! Regardless if its for sipping a cup of coffee in peaceful solitude or spilling the tea with one’s friends, order up a slice of Lemon or Orange Pound Cake (S$7 per slice) or a warm Vanilla or Pistachio Madeleine (S$2.50 each).
To complement their sweet creations, LUNA Joo Chiat also offers savoury bakes in the form of homely quiches with wholesome fillings such as Forest Mushroom ($7) and Salmon Spinach Pesto ($7.50).
