There’s a new Hong-Kong style casual diner newly opened along the busy streets of Balestier.

Known for its quiet neighborhood and home to a wide array of mouthwatering food joints and hipster cafes set amidst a backwash of traditional shophouses which pays homage to its colorful history, Jiang Cantonese Tapas founder Aaron Tan has put the place together to realize his dream passion of enjoying Cantonese food in a relaxed environment and for his guests to reminisce about the old days!

With classic Cantopop music playing in the background, guests can enjoy their meal on level one where the retro décor takes inspiration from the traditional 1980s style commonly found in Hong Kong tea cafés or kick back and relax at the cozy basement!

Apart from the decor, the double-storey eatery is serving up a wide array of Hong Kong street bites and traditional Cantonese dishes all for communal sharing, the establishment’s menu offers affordably-priced fare for the everyday man cooked with quality ingredients and a robust wok hey flavor!

Regardless if its some light bites to go along with your craft beers or a quick lunch or even a full course meal with your family, a diverse selection of dishes await! For lunch, most of the menu includes some old time favorites in adequate portions to ensure that diners have a quick yet fulfilling lunch before heading back to work! Most of the lunch dishes start from just $6 onwards and lunch specials are 20% off!

Some of the establishment’s signature dishes include the Signature Wok Fried XO Carrot Cake (S$9.80) chocked full of wok hei flavor, the Crispy Skin Kurobuta Roast Pork (S$10.80), Wok Fried French Beans with Dried Shrimps (S$12.80), Lychee Sweet & Sour Kurobuta Pork (S$14.80) and the Chinese Sausage Claypot Rice (S$16.80).

The discreet bar is fully stocked with draft beers, wines, whiskies, sakes and cocktails as well as non-alcoholic beverages for more family-friendly options. Happy Hour happens daily on weekdays and alcoholic drinks are priced at S$9++ then.The restaurant also has no corkage charge for bringing your own wines and champagne, to encourage more footfall!
