Retro Aracade Bar and Discotheque, Nineteen80 Celebrates First Anniversary with “The Wonder Year”

Located in the heart of Tanjong Pagar, retro arcade bar and discotheque NINETEEN80 invites guests to celebrate a momentous year of nostalgic throwbacks with a weekend of festivities at The Wonder Year: First Anniversary.

A nod to the classic 80s and 90s television series, The Wonder Years, NINETEEN80 celebrates its own coming-of-age over the anniversary weekend of Friday, 28 June and Saturday, 29 June 2019, reliving a year of milestones, parties and memories. Guests can expect an 80s-fueled retro themed weekend, with classic games, capsule machine giveaways, and sing-a-longs together with a selection of anniversary drink specials. Pay tribute to your beloved boy bands and belt out your favourite ballads along with nostalgic jams, as NINETEEN80’s resident DJs, Ollie’des, YA5TH and Bobos play the best of the era all night long.

Since opening the doors in June 2018, NINETEEN80 is the brainchild of A Phat Cat Collective and has fast become one of Singapore’s most prominent nightlife destinations for music and entertainment lovers. Cementing themselves to be a destination unlike any other, within the first year, the discotheque was nominated for “Best Nightspot Experience” by the prestigious Singapore Tourism Awards, 2019. NINETEEN80 also proudly kick-started the kindness campaign – #NICETEEN80 – to encourage partygoers to take the courtesy they learnt in school to the dancefloor, by making clubbing a friendlier and safer experience for all, an initiative which was commended by Singapore Kindness Movement.

As Singapore’s quintessential venue for a nostalgic trip, NINETEEN80 is the only venue in the local party scene known for retro music, with its curated mix of 80s to 00s tunes helmed by veteran DJs that treat partygoers with a fresh, engaging choice for the ultimate night out. Celebrated for original and pop-culture themed events, notable parties from the past year saw; The Grease 40th Anniversary Theme Party, Fright Night on Halloween, Queen tribute night, The Final Countdown on New Year’s Eve, ‘May the Fourth’ Star Wars party and Fight For Your Right arcade tournaments. Taking the local partying scene to new dimensions, NINETEEN80 has also presented an impressive line-up of renowned guest DJs from American turntable whizzes, DJ Dynamix and Shortkut, to local personalities Mark Richmond and Don Richmond.
