In the midst of working from home, or acclimatising ourselves back to work, how about a treat to sweeten the end of a long day or week? From Ah Mah Homemade Cakes, known for their fluffy & fragrant Castella bakes, treat yourself to their all-new Granny’s Chao Ta Cheesecakes line – smooth, cheesy and oh-so-creamy!

Hopping onto the popular Basque burnt cheesecake bandwagon that spiked in popularity during the Circuit Breaker, Granny’s Chao Ta Cheesecakes features both a classic version for cheesecake-lovers, as well as a localised Ondeh Ondeh version. What’s more, these melt-in-your-mouth goods are 50% off until the end of COVID-19!

We thoroughly enjoyed the classic Granny’s Original Chao Ta Cheesecake (S$19.90, U.P. S$39.80, 700g) – no frills, all velvety, creamy insides with a lovely chao ta crust. Perfect for a mid-day pick-me-up, or post-dinner treat! However, the Granny’s Ondeh Ondeh Chao Ta Cheesecake (S$21.90, U.P. S$43.80, 750g) surprised us with how fragrant it was, infused with pandan juice and filled with crunchy bits of desiccated coconut fried in gula melaka. Like a cross between a kueh and a classic cheesecake, we couldn’t stop nibbling at this.

Ah Mah Yuzu

Layered with soft citrus-yellow and pastel blue shades, the newest addition to the line-up is Granny’s Yuzu Chao Ta Cheesecake (S$24.90, U.P. S$43.80, 750g). Made with yuzu juice for a refreshingly citrus zing to cut through all that creaminess, as well as natural colouring from the butterfly pea flower, this is one cake that looks as good as it tastes.

Granny’s Chao Ta Cheesecakes are available for online retail at Website with free island-wide delivery (minimum order of $80). Do be sure to pre-order two days in advance, as these bakes are subject to availability!.
