Hot! Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2019 presents an exciting line-up of events and activities!

As we get closer to bidding 2018 goodbye and welcome a brand new 2019, Marina Bay and the Civic District presents “Celebrate in the City” with exciting line-up of activities and events prepared leading to the eve of 31st December where everyone will gather together to usher in the New Year right in the heart of the city.

There are tons of activities lined-up and we had shortlisted some of the must see activities:

1. Marina Bay Colourful and Dazzling Light Projection
In partnership with the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), to support the less fortunate in fulfilling their dreams and personal development, the facade of Marina Bay’s Iconic landmarks, the Fullerton Hotel Singapore, ArtScience Museum and The Merlion will be illuminated with designs and artworks created by students and beneficiaries of local schools and welfare organisations as part of the “Build a Dream initiative”.

From 26 to 31 December, enjoy whimsical projection shows with artworks by the beneficiaries of the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN) and the Metta Welfare Association (Metta) at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore between 8pm and 10:30pm from 26-30 December 2018, and between 8pm and 11:30pm on New Year’s Eve ( at 15-minute intervals).

Look forward to light projection shows on the ArtScience Museum from 29 to 31 December between 8.15pm and 10.30pm, and The Merlion between 8pm and 10.30pm from 29 to 30 December 2018, and between 8pm and 11.30pm on New Year’s Eve. The facade of the ArtScience Museum will be lit with projections adapted from artworks by beneficiaries of AWWA and the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS), while the Merlion will feature artworks created by students from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).

2. Let’s Celebrate 2019
On 31 December 2018, at The Promontory, Usher in 2019 with Mediacorp’s Let’s Celebrate 2019 countdown show to be hosted by Chua En Lai and Sonia Chew, featuring Mediacorp artistes and local acts. Visitors will get to enjoy live performances by Taufik Batisah, Gentle Bones, Joanna Dong, Sufi Rashid, Shabir, as well as the newly-crowned SPOP Sing! winner Jarrell Ng and the top three finalists.

On top of that, artistes Joel Choo, Pierre Png, Sheila Sim, Romeo Tan, Carrie Wong will collaborate with Singapore’s top fashion models and Aisyah Aziz to showcase works done by local designers. Entry is free.

Food Truck Fest (1)

3. Food Truck Fest
Ongoing from 28 December till 30 December 2018 from 5pm to 11pm at Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza, Food Truck Fest features a delicious line-up of modern local food, with a gathering of 14 food trucks, caravans and kombi vans. Visitors can expect to experience an array of Singapore’s favourite dishes all in one location, including New Ubin Seafood and Fishball Story.

4. LOOP @ The Incubator
From 1 to 31 December 2018, Tues to Fri – 4pm to 10pm, Sat to Sun – 10am to 10pm, New Year’s Eve – 10am to 1am, The Incubator at Esplanade Park will feature LOOP, a pop-up lifestyle festival featuring a local craft bazaar selling products by local craft makers and wellness experiences that promote awareness about sustainability. A key highlight is the Void Deck Olympics on the ground level, where visitors can relive their childhood days by taking part in capteh, congkak and Five Stones challenges. The upper storey of LOOP will also feature a pop-up bar offering specially curated local craft beers and wine collection. Visitors can inscribe their wishes for the environment on local discarded wood pieces, which will be assembled to form a Community Tree to be displayed at Esplanade Park

Marina Bay Carnival

5. Prudential Marina Bay Carnival
The Prudential Marina Bay Carnival returns to Bayfront Event Space for the second year from 22 December to 24 March 2019 from 4pm to 11pm (extended hours till 2am on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve) offering 50 thrilling rides and games, including four new ones, visitors are guaranteed an exciting time. Roving food trucks will be at hand to satiate hunger pangs; buskers will roll out entertainment; and visitors can learn new skills from local artisans through a curated series of art and craft workshops.

6. STAR ISLAND Singapore Countdown Edition in conjunction with Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2019
On 31 December 2018 from 5pm to 2am, The Float @Marina Bay will feature a multi-sensory fireworks musical featuring a combination of dazzling fireworks and pyrotechnics, lights, 3D surround sound and performance acts by Taiko drummers, dancers, fire performers and more. There will also be a F&B marketplace and family-friendly fringe activities such as retro arcade games, VR games booths and kids play area.

7. The Philharmonic Orchestra presents New Year’s Eve Countdown Concert 2019
On 31 December 2018, from 10pm to 11.59pm, expect musical fireworks under the baton of conductors Lim Yau and Lin Juan in this much anticipated concert to ring in the New Year! Hosted by William Ledbetter, revel in a concert of charming and familiar classics. Admission fee applies.
