This year, HSBC Singapore celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Womens’ World Championship with a special collaboration with local jewellery brand RISIS. As part of the collaboration, RISIS has designed a two-piece necklace collection inspired by the iconic HSBC orchid flower.
Unveiled during a private event held at Como Dempsey, the two necklaces designed by RISIS feature the HSBC Orchid, a special hybrid orchid species that was specially commissioned by NParks for HSBC in 2000. The Papilionanda Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank orchid recognises the bank’s various contributions towards biodiversity and environmental conservation efforts in Singapore.
The bespoke Winner’s Necklace is adorned with 15 pearls, as a celebration of the tournament’s 15th anniversary this year. The reigning champion of the tournament this year will be awarded the Winner’s Necklace. Meanwhile, the Golfers’ Slider necklace was tailor-made and presented individually to each participating player in the tournament.
Shanya Amarasuriya, Creative Director of BP de Silva Group says: “The awarded Orchid inspired jewellery encapsulates the passion and ingenuity of this sportsmanship. It has been an honour to design a special jewellery piece to award the champion and their stellar achievement.”
This year’s edition of the HSBC Women’s World Championship saw a stellar line-up of internationally acclaimed golfers. 18 of the world’s top 20 ranked players were in attendance, including Nelly Korda and Brooke Henderson who are currently the world’s best 2nd and 7th players respectively. Singapore’s rising golfer Amanda Tan and Chinese star Shanshan Feng are among the highly anticipated players at the competition this year. Since its launch in 2003, the HSBC Women’s World Championships has been bringing together the best women’s golfers in the world.
