The Italian Market
On the 4th floor of Harrods, Dolce&Gabbana recreate the unique atmosphere of an Italian street market, with all its infinite nuances.

It’s a story of flowers, fruit, vegetables, toys, gastronomic delicacies, dazzling colours, vivacity and joy. These are only a few of the words you could use to describe the background of the vibrant atmosphere one might stumble upon strolling through any Italian town. And it’s also a story of life, an homage to the beauty, tradition and Italian authenticity that one experiences in the streets, the ateliers, the bakeries, fruit vendors, souvenir shops and open-air markets – and this year, also in Harrods, the world’s most famous department store, which this Christmas season will offer a taste of everyday life in Italy.

The Italian Market

The market will be decorated with brightly coloured lights and booths displaying accessories, ready-to-wear, toys and gift ideas, many created exclusively for Harrods. Everything will seem as if it were in the middle of an Italian piazza full of delights to browse. Dazzling lights will adorn every corner of the market: the entrance, the ceiling, the booths, and the installations inspired by the famous hand-painted Sicilian carts. Visitors will be transported into a real market suffused with the spirit of countless festivals that animate the lively towns of Southern Italy. If one’s gaze turns instead to the floor, it will seem like walking on an expanse of lemons, oranges and traditional Sicilian fans in a triumph of vibrant colours.

There will be no shortage of gift items that evoke the atmosphere of the festivities: coloured candles with imagery from the Sicilian cart, as well as stationery, romantic diaries covered in coloured silk – all great gift ideas for the upcoming Christmas season.
