Swiss watch brand Norqain launches the limited edition Independence Skeleton Chrono in Singapore

Norqain celebrates a new milestone in its watchmaking history with their latest release, the Independence Skeleton Chrono. Developed in partnership between Norqain and Manufacture AMT, the Independence Skeleton Chrono is powered by the new 8K Manufacture Calibre, a skeletonised flyback chronograph movement. The new 8K Manufacture Calibre makes its debut in two models — the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm Titanium DLC and the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm steel.

The 8K Manufacture Calibre is named aptly after the “Eight Thousanders” — a term coined by mountaineers referring to the world’s mountain peaks that span over 8,000 metres. An ode to the brand’s love for mountains and watchmaking, the 8K Manufacture Calibre is built for the brave explorer with a daring spirit. Its key feature is the flyback chronograph; which resets and restarts with a single push of a button — a nifty feature indeed built for the sportsman, mountaineer or avid adventurer. The chronograph is also fitted with a column wheel, allowing precise activation of the chronograph function.

As its name suggests, the 8K manufacture calibre goes through a skeletonisation process — the result is a stunning, three-dimensional architecture. The transparent sapphire crystal case showcases the beautiful complication from both the front and back of the watch.

Norqain doesn’t shy away from aesthetic touches. The movement is texturised with a juxtaposition of polished and sandblasted surfaces, achieving a sleek yet rugged look. Cutaway segments form the mountain motif in the dial, while an original mountain-inspired graphic completes the adventurous, mountaineering aesthetic.

The 8K manufacture calibre appears in two watches ‚ the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm Titanium DLC (S$10,450) and the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm steel (S$9,650). Both watches offer 100 meters of water resistance, 62-hour power reserve and an independent chronometer certification — key features that mark the quality and reliability of Norqain.

The 42mm Titanium DLC is the exclusive version, marked with an engraving of “Limited Edition ONE of 300” on the case back. Taking center stage is the black satin-finished skeletonized dial, accented by mountain-inspired purple detailing, all housed within a lightweight Grade 5 titanium case.

Meanwhile, 42mm Steel version features the same satin-finished skeletonised dial, but with gold-plated detailings and comes with a stainless steel metal bracelet. While it isn’t limited edition or exclusive, it will still be limited in terms of production quantity.
