Hoteliers and Aviation Companies Are Giving Back to Community During the Pandemic
The impact of coronavirus has undoubtedly changed the way we live. Despite travel restrictions and business losses, brands have stepped up during the pandemic to support people who are affected and in need.
Here are some examples of the hotel and aviation companies doing good for the community during this time.
Dorchester Collection
Showing appreciation and gratitude to the front-line heroes in Los Angeles, The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air donated 400 meals to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on April 1st, in addition to 200 McCarthy Salads and 200 Nancy Reagan Salads offered to first responders and medical personnel the week before. The hotels hope that the meals from their chefs will offer comfort during these trying times and show appreciation to the heroes who are on the frontline every day.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group
In part of Mandarin Oriental Singapore’s ‘Doing More’ CSR initiative for the healthcare heroes, 2,000 packs of cookies were delivered to the healthcare professionals at Singapore General Hospital on 20 and 21 February 2020. “To extend our heartfelt appreciation towards healthcare heroes battling the COVID-19 outbreak, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore brought a treat of joy, in form of freshly baked cookies made and packed by our in-house pastry chefs. This was our way of expressing our gratitude for their steadfast commitment and unwavering care for our community during this time of need,” says Mr. Christian A. Hassing, Area Vice President and General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Singapore.
Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas
As travel bans and social distancing measures continue, Six Senses has rolled out At Home with Six Senses, offering some positivity to support everyone’s well-being during this time. Since the start of April, the video tutorials have been taking place on Facebook Live, featuring short videos such as yoga and stretching, drum journey meditation, and a cold brew coffee demonstration by Six Senses’ senior team and staff. The videos are made available online after on www.facebook.com/SixSenses and www.facebook.com/SixSensesSpas.

VistaJet, the first and only global business aviation company, is helping to ensure that those with critical travel requirements are able to keep moving during this critical time. The company is working directly with governments and consulates around the world, helping them to repatriate citizens by providing complimentary empty leg flights as the demand for cargo flights fall due to the cancellation of major commercial routes. VistaJet is also in talks with medical organizations, health experts and regulators to identify other solutions, including the transportation of key medical supplies. Additionally, empty leg flights are being offered for free for critical flights to transport medical experts to necessary locations in the fight against the global pandemic.
