This festive season, why not treat yourself and indulge in a memorable staycation at the InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay, where modern elegance meets rich cultural heritage along the scenic Singapore River. Primarily known as a haven for business travelers, this hotel offers 225 beautifully appointed rooms that provide a stylish retreat amidst the vibrant dining and arts scene of Robertson Quay- known for its lively dining options and art houses all set against the backdrop of stunning waterfront views.

Upon first entering the hotel, its design artfully combines elements from the district’s industrial past with sleek contemporary finishes, creating an inviting atmosphere. Guests can enjoy outdoor terraces that overlook the picturesque river, enhancing the overall experience of cosmopolitan riverside living.

As part of the hotel’s Stay and Play itinerary, we had the opportunity to stay at the King Junior Suite Riverview room, where an inviting enclave of luxurious amenities awaited us. Featuring 44 sqm of space, we got to enjoy spacious accommodations with floor-to-ceiling windows that provided breathtaking views of the river and the city skyline. The design reflects a blend of comfort and sophistication, making it an ideal choice for both leisure and business travellers. In-house beverage amenities include a Nespresso coffee maker, premium MONOGRAM tea– as well as complimentary use of the Tokyo Bike for us to explore Robertson Quay alongside access to the Club InterContinental lounge on level 4.

In addition to luxurious rooms, the InterContinental Robertson Quay offers an array of facilities, including a quanit infinity pool that overlooks the river, a well-equipped fitness center for any guests who need to get their workout done for the day. Culinary enthusiasts will delight in the diverse dining options available on-site. Publico Ristorante serves up vibrant Italian cuisine, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse promises hearty steaks for meat lovers, Ishi focuses on providing quality Japanese sushi to guests and the newly opened restaurant on the block Ummi Beirut is an authentic Lebanese restaurant that focuses on using only fresh and organic produce.

Like most other IHG properties, this hotel also has a Club InterContinental lounge for guests to use as a place for meetings or for guests to have high tea or evening cocktails and canapes while overlooking the sunset over the horizon over Robinson Quay. Club guests can indulge in a wide array of tailored and personalised services, including assistance with restaurant reservations and chauffeur services, to a range of complimentary food and beverage offerings including exquisite afternoon tea treats, and evening canapés & cocktails.

However there were some areas for improvement during our visit. The high tea offerings were somewhat disappointing, with desserts that leaned towards overly sweet and scones that lacked freshness that were as hard as a rock. Additionally, the cocktail selections during evening canapés could benefit from a broader range of flavors beyond sweet profiles such as a negroni or an old-fashioned. However, we were assured by the front office manager that enhancements are forthcoming, promising future guests an improved selection of treats and cocktails.
