Cointreau Spicy brings the heat to Singapore’s cocktail scene

Cointreau has expanded its iconic orange liqueur lineup with the launch of Cointreau Spicy, a chilli-infused expression aimed squarely at the region’s growing appetite for heat. The brand celebrated the release with a takeover at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, pairing a DJ-led evening with $10 spicy cocktails, including a Mango Spicy creation and fiery reinterpretations on the Paloma, Highball, and Margarita cocktails alongside Pork Belly and Spicy Shrimp tacos and a hot wings competition for guests keen to test their spice tolerance.
The new liqueur was built on data: Cointreau’s international research found that 76% of consumers now drink spicy flavours at least occasionally, with 63% doing so weekly, yet 64% say they favour balance over sheer intensity. Cointreau Spicy is formulated around that insight—a 30% ABV orange liqueur macerated with Bird’s Eye chilli and rounded out with natural chilli and jalapeño flavourings, plus a touch of cucumber for a clean, vegetal lift. The result leans warming rather than aggressive, designed to make spicy serves approachable rather than an intimidating dare.
From now until the end of October, the celebrations will extend across 15 different bars islandwide, from Mars Bar and The Bar at 15 Stamford to Mnemonic Brew & Craft and Flying Squirrel, with a guest shift at Canning Bar & Lounge featuring Bangkok’s The Consul adding a regional flourish to the rollout. Travellers who purchased a bottle at the duty free stores at the airport can redeem a complimentary Spicy Margarita at EL CHIDO, the rooftop Mexican bar atop Pullman Singapore Hill Street, which is running its own three-month Cointreau Spicy promotion.
Cointreau Spicy is now available in Singapore both in-store and online through Cold Storage and Cellarbration, the latter offering a twin bundle deal that includes a complimentary Cointreau Margarita glass with purchase.
