MO BAR Edition No.1 Gin: Where Singaporean Heritage Meets Modern Gin Craft

MO BAR at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore has added a new signature keepsake to it’s lineup with the launch of MO BAR Edition No.1 Gin, its first locally distilled house spirit. Created with Singapore craft distillery Distillius, the gin translates the bar’s local, collaborative approach with more softer and subtle flavours, with fewer than 100 bottles available from the first batch.

The flavour profile is deliberately more citrus-oriented rather than the traditionally aggressive juniper-led. On the nose, gentle mandarin and lemon-peel citrus notes blend well with a subtle osmanthus juniper scent. The palate is smooth and lightly sweet, opening with tropical dried mango before moving into coriander spice, soft citrus and a subtle lift from the sauvignon blanc infusion. It is a mild, easy-drinking gin with a notably pronounced mango aftertaste, while the finish remains clean, lingering and lightly floral-citrus.

The bottle itself is made from ceramic and inspired by a traditional Chinese vase, it features oriental-style illustrations of the key botanicals framed by Vanda Miss Joaquim, Singapore’s national flower. Once the final pour is gone, the vessel can be repurposed as a decorative vase or display object—an especially thoughtful touch for a gift or a home bar, since the packaging becomes a lasting reminder of the experience rather than simply being disposed of.

To introduce the gin, MO BAR is offering The First Edition Experience (S$61++), a three-serve flight comprising a neat pour, a classic G&T topped with soda and citrus, and a choice between two cocktails- M.O. Mango accentuates the gin’s tropical side through fresh mango and citrus saccharum, while M.O. MAMI takes a more bittersweet, savoury direction with Sauvignon Blanc and Amaro Nino, that stays true to a classic if not slightly saline Martini. Guests can also order a neat pour for S$27++, or enjoy the house spirit by the bottle with four mixers for S$280++ at the bar.

The gin has already earned early recognition, receiving Double Gold at the 2026 Asia World Spirits Competition, organised by The Tasting Alliance. The accolade is especially notable because Double Gold is awarded through blind judging, in which all judges on the panel give a Gold-level rating, making it one of the competition’s highest honours.

MO BAR Edition No.1 Gin is sold exclusively through MO BAR and the Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop and online retail shop, at S$150++ for a 500ml bottle.
