Singapore Cocktail Festival (SGCF) to Introduce Two Editions this Year
In light of the DORSCON Orange advisory by the government, Singapore Cocktail Festival (SGCF) will be split into two headline editions this year, in a move that is supported by the Festival’s official partners and sponsors.
SGCF City Takeover, a lineup of exciting drink promotions, bar tours and cocktail experiences happening across the best bars in Singapore, will take place from 15 to 22 May 2020. The SGCF Festival Village, which plays host to bar pop-ups by Asia’s and The World’s 50 Best Bars, spirits-themed pavilions, and cocktail masterclasses, will be held at Bayfront Event Space (next to Marina Bay Sands) and rescheduled to 23 to 25 October 2020.
One of the key highlights of SGCF City Takeover, is the inaugural launch of the BarStar Award, which pits some of the nation’s youngest and most talented bartenders (28 years old and below) against each other to create a cocktail inspired by the neighbourhood of the bar they represent. Festival goers can enjoy these competition cocktails from 18 to 22 May at the finalists’ bars. Another highlight is the Bar Tours, where guests will visit four cocktail venues in one night.
“The DORSCON Orange advisory recommends precautionary measures against large scale events. Putting the safety of our guests as a priority, it makes sense for us to postpone the launch of the SGCF Festival Village, where we expect a turnout of up to 10,000 attendees,” shares Wai Mayleng, Co-Founder of SGCF.
All tickets purchased for the SGCF Festival Village will be honoured on the new dates, 23 to 25 October 2020. Those who wish to get a refund can write in to hello@singaporecocktailfestival.com by 5 April 2020. Tickets are also transferable and ticket holders can edit their details on www.eventbrite.sg.
